Nice Cycle Tours

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to wear?
A hat, T-shirt, shorts and trainers are ideal. We recommend that you bring a long sleeve shirt as the Mediterranean sun is strong during the summer months.
What do I need to bring?
Bring a small backpack or satchel with your sun-cream, sunglasses, hat and of course your camera.
Note: We provide water bottles and stop frequently to refill.
How fit do I have to be?
The Nice tour lasts around 3 hours at a leisurely pace and covers around 10 km (6 miles). There is one small hill (which takes about 10 minutes to cycle up).

Remember that Nice can get quite hot in summer (up to 30 degrees). We believe anybody with an average level of fitness will have no trouble completing the Nice tour, even if you have not been on a bicycle for a while. As always, before undertaking physical exercise it is advisable to consult your doctor if in doubt.
What about children?
Tow Bike
Our Nice tour is suitable for all ages and the itinerary has been designed specifically to avoid traffic and other dangers to a maximum. We have baby seats for children up to 22 kg. For older children that are not yet autonomous on a bike, we have "tow bikes" (see picture), and we also have ordinary childrens' bikes in several sizes. Please state that you are a family when booking or making an inquiry as the number of child seats, tow bikes and childrens' bikes are limited!
What bikes do we use?
Our lightweight, highly adjustable city bikes
The bikes we use for the Discover Nice by Bike tours are lightweight, highly manoeuvrable, highly adjustable city bikes (see picture). As there is no top tube, it is always easy to put ones feet down on the ground, which makes these bikes very safe in the city! For the tow bike and for our bike seats (see above), we use small, medium and large frame mountain bikes.
What happens if it rains?
It rarely rains in Nice during the summer! In the unlikely event that it does, we will supply you with a rain mac.
How long does the tour last?
The Discover Nice tour lasts around 3 hours at a leisurely pace and covers around 10 km (6 miles).
Are the roads dangerous around Nice?
Like any big city traffic can be heavy in places. That is why we have designed the Discover Nice by bike tour to keep busy roads to a minimum and take advantage of the quiet streets and cycle paths.
How hot does it get?
In the summer months, temperatures can often get up to 30 degrees in Nice. This is why our tours start in the morning and late in the afternoon.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept credit card payments via Paypal before the tour date. On the day of the tour, only cash payments can be made.
